I believe the right of a human being to remain alive is the most fundamental – the one upon which all others are founded. Once an unborn child reaches a stage at which he or she is considered alive, that child's right to remain alive supersedes the mother's right to choose whether or not to continue her pregnancy. I support the Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act of 2006, which requires doctors to tell mothers about fetal development and the capacity of unborn children to feel pain.
